Our Story

My mother was turning 60 and she enjoyed the occasional glass of wine. To celebrate her birthday in style, I decided to book a wine tour for her and her girlfriends. It ended up being 15 of them in total.

I began to research local wineries and stumbled upon 1723 Vineyards. The website was professional and when I called them to arrange a tasting, they were extremely helpful. Add in a Kevin Smith Transportation Group Party Bus and my mom and her friends were good to go!

1723 Vineyards

1723 Vineyards has some history. Originally part of New London Township which was founded in 1723, Ben Franklin once owned a portion of the farm. This winery has history that you can feel when visiting.

Our Wine Tour

I arranged for my mom and her friends to be picked up at a local restaurant that Kevin Smith Transportation Group had a relationship with. KSTG had arranged for some light appetizers to be served for the group where they met.

They were picked up in a 22 passenger luxury Party Bus, providing them with plenty of room, built in televisions and Bluetooth surround sound. The chauffeur was extremely patient with the group as some of the ladies were a little slow moving.

The first thing that stood out to my mom and her friends were the views. Breathtaking comes to mind. They did a tasting, sampling everything from Cabernet Sauvignons to Sauvignon Blancs. The staff were knowledgeable and funny (my mom’s words).

After the tasting, they took time to simply enjoy the experience, taking in the smells and the hint of a lot of history. They climbed back into the Party Bus, feeling exhilarated and exhausted at the same time.

They arrived back at their departure site, laughing and memorializing the events of the day. The last of my mom’s friends stepped off of the Party Bus, ending a day to remember for all of them. The last thing they talked about was which winery would they be visiting next year!

It looks like my mom’s 61st birthday is going to be another party!

Fun Facts about 1723 Vineyards

1723 Vineyards is owned by Sarah and Ben Cody. They planted their first vines in 2015. The winery is focused on producing premium wines conducive to the region. This includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlots.

Over the years, the winery continues to expand, with an additional 28 acres of vines since 2015. The owners, 5th generation farmers from the Midwest, had the farm-saved from development by the Chester County Agricultural Land Preservation program.

Transportation Options

If you are considering booking a Wine Tour with Kevin Smith Transportation Group, know that there are many vehicle options to choose from.

Stretch Limousines

Kevin Smith Transportation Group offers a variety of stretch limousine options when we called them. They included Lincoln MKT’s that could handle up to 8 passengers and a gorgeous white Stretch Denali that could handle up to 18 passengers.

Party Buses

When we called, the Party Bus options were amazing. Besides all of the extra space you get, the music, televisions and other features made it a really nice option. The coolest option was that they have Party Buses for groups of to 28. For those people planning a Wine Tour for a large group, these are perfect.

For smaller groups or couples, a luxury sedan or SUV is perfect. You don’t have to worry about driving while tasting all of the amazing wines that are offered at the Pennsylvania Wineries and you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the entire experience.
