Thesis and Solution

We were approached by a perspective client who was planning her second 21^st Birthday Party. Three years earlier, she had an epic failure booking a Party Bus with a company who turned out to not to be what they represented online.

However, her daughter wanted to do a bar crawl with friends as she was the last one turning 21 and our perspective client knew booking a Party Bus was the safest and most fun option. She needed a professional company who delivered the luxury and service she wanted.

Key Challenge

For her, it was trying to find the right company so as not to experience what she did 3 years prior. She had specifics as to what she wanted, including number of seats, technology choices and timing.

She wanted to meet the Chauffeur ahead of time (prior to booking) and nobody she had spoken to before would allow that. For a single booking, she had a lot of requirements and made it clear she was going to be high maintenance (her words!).

Alternatives

For her, there were no alternatives. Only the best, most luxurious service would be acceptable. She wanted an engaged solution and she wouldn’t accept anything less.

Proposed Solution

The good news was, she wasn’t our first demanding client. In fact, we find one-off, social bookings can be the most challenging. So like many booking requests, we had a solution.

We started off with the obvious. We invited her in for a meeting. She came to our offices and we met in one of our conference rooms. We went through how we would approach the night, taking her through the entire night.

We then went out and toured the vehicles, letting her see all of her options, ultimately selecting the one she wanted. While there, she also got the chance to meet 8 different Chauffeurs, ultimately saying any of the 8 would be perfect.

Lessons Learned

Don’t underestimate the importance of good service. I believe the amount of referral business we will get from this client will make the time we invested in her worth 100 times the cost.
