6 Tips for Terrific Limo Etiquette

Who doesn’t love a limo ride? Weddings, proms, anniversaries, special events, or even just a swanky night out – there’s no happy occasion that a limo ride can’t improve.

Amidst all the fun, though, it’s important to remember that hiring and riding in a limo also requires a certain etiquette. Wondering what that entails? Here are a few helpful tips below.

ADVANCE PREPARATION IS KEY

To provide you with great service, a limo company needs to know exactly what you need and as far in advance as possible. When you reserve well in advance, you can usually choose the exact vehicle you want from the company’s fleet – and who wouldn’t want their #1 choice? Avoid last minute calls and bookings, as there’s no guarantee a limo service will be able to accommodate you.

GET A GUEST COUNT

Before you can book your ride, you need to know the number of guests the limo will be accommodating. This will help pick ups and drop offs run smoother and will help the company know which vehicle is right for your needs. If the number increases, don’t forget to let the limo company know, so that you can avoid any last-minute disruptions on the day.

TREAT YOUR DRIVER WITH RESPECT

Chauffeurs go out of their way to make sure your experience is as good as it can be, from prompt pick up to navigating the best routes in advance, service with a smile and everything in between. If there’s an unexpected hitch, it’s important to treat your driver with courtesy and respect and not take it out on them.

TREAT THE VEHICLE LIKE YOU WOULD YOUR OWN

Or even better. Though you have rented the vehicle, it’s still the property of the company and other people’s property should always be respected. Make sure that when you exit the car, it’s in the same condition it was when you entered it.

HAVE FUN WITHOUT GOING OVERBOARD

Limos are a fabulous place to get the party started, but it’s important not to get too carried away while in the vehicle. Never harass the driver or engage in activities that could be unsafe while you’re on the road.

TIPS COUNT

If your chauffeur helped bring you a great experience, it’s only fair to add in a tip to appreciate them for their efforts. If you didn’t enjoy your experience, you can call the limo company and let them know why, but if you did, a tip is a fair reward for a job well done.
