7 Things to Check Before You Book a Limo

If you’re looking for a way to make a special occasion even more special, booking a limo certainly ups the ante! Whether you’re renting a limo for prom, your wedding, a bachelor(ette) party, or a special date night, nothing beats the thrill of stepping out in a stretch.

While we’re well aware of the palpitations which can occur when deciding on a limo ride, it’s important to take a step back and make sure everything is up to snuff. If you’re not quite sure what you’re looking out for, fret not, because we’ve got all the checks and tips to ensure the sky’s the limo-it when you’re riding in style.

Research What You Want

It’s not one limo fits all, that’s for sure. While for some a classic Lincoln MKT Stretch is perfect for date night or prom, others might want to get lit in a Stretch Yukon Denali for a bachelor party or crazy night on the town. It’s best to do a bit of research to find out exactly what you want so you don’t end up with your expectations not met.

Give the Limo A Once-Over

Once you’ve settled on the limo you want, make sure you schedule a visual inspection of the car. It’s important to make sure everything is up to date, and that you’re not getting catfished by the pictures. If an in-person visit just isn’t possible, ask the limo company to send you unfiltered images from that day, with as many angles as they can!

Work Out the Details

Getting the details right is so important when it comes to making sure everything flows smoothly. Especially during wedding and prom season when loads of companies will be booked out in advance, make sure you’ve got the scheduling right. The last thing you need when you’re already stressed, is the limo arriving late or on the wrong date. Be clear about the payment details as well, you don’t want to feel like you’ve been swindled when the bill arrives.

Check the Perks

Depending on the limo you’ve chosen, you’ll get different amenities. Some limos come with multiple custom bars, TV’s, LED lights, surround sound, the works. However, it’s imperative you clarify to see that the limo you’ve booked has everything you need. Ask if there’s bluetooth to play your own music, or if you’re required to bring your own booze. Assuming that what you see in the pictures will be provided is a one-way ticket to disappointment.

Review the Reviews

In this day and age, the first thing people check before making a decision is online reviews! Check to see the experience past customers have had, and take a look at how the limo company has responded to feedback or criticism, and get a sense of their service, professionalism, and dependability.

Safety Matters

Amidst all the brouhaha surrounding a limo ride, it’s important to make sure all the safety measures are up to scratch. See if wearing a seatbelt in a limo is mandatory in your state. Ask the limo company to show you that all their licenses and registrations are in order. Your driver should also have a chauffeur permit, which the company should show you beforehand.

Get A Contract

It’s always imperative to get your booking in writing. Verbal contracts can result in misunderstandings or confusion, so get all the details down on paper. This makes for a much smoother transaction, so you don’t get stressed later on when something doesn’t add up.
