Our Story
My daughter was getting married and I wanted to plan an intimate, family focused bachelorette party for some of the older aunts who wouldn’t be joining the “official” bachelorette party.
A wine tour seemed like a great idea for a lazy Saturday afternoon and after coming across Kog Hill Winery online, it seemed like a destination for our group of 12.
Kog Hill Winery
Kog Hill Winery leverages their status as a “small winery” to deliver big results in everything they make. Their tasting room is staffed by an amazing team and for as little as $5 a person, you can sample up to 10 wines.
They also specialize in small group events, where their venue offers space for up to 80 guests outside. No visit is complete without also browsing their gift shop that is filled with some really funny memorabilia.

Our Wine Tour
With a group of 12, we decided to book transportation which turned out to be a really smart idea. We booked one of the smaller Party Buses that Kevin Smith Transportation Group owns and they picked us up at 11am.
We had about an hours drive to Kog Hill Winery but it seemed to go by so quickly. We talked about the upcoming wedding and just laughed, telling stories of my daughter and all of her escapades when she was younger.
We arrived for our tasting and spent the next 3 hours sampling wine, sampling on snacks and just taking in the wine experience. It was an amazing day for sure.
We arrived back home a little after 4pm and everyone agreed it was an amazing day. With no worries about having to drive ourselves, we were able to relax and simply take in the day. In fact, I know the younger girls booked one of the larger Party Buses for a night into the city they are planning with all of their college friends.
Fun Facts about Kog Hill Winery
The King of Grapes (KOG) produces over 25 wines, including reds, whites, fruits and a dessert wine. Due to the local weather, they grow their grapes in parts of Lake Erie, Northern NY and Northern California.
Interestingly, though, they make all of their wines on-site and the fruit for their fruit wines come from local orchards and farms. Part of the Berks Wine Trail, Kog Hill Winery offers a local, unique experience for somebody looking to expand their palate of flavors.
Transportation Options
If you are considering booking a Wine Tour with Kevin Smith Transportation Group, know that there are many vehicle options to choose from.
Stretch Limousines
Kevin Smith Transportation Group offers a variety of stretch limousine options when we called them. They included Lincoln MKT’s that could handle up to 8 passengers and a gorgeous white Stretch Denali that could handle up to 18 passengers.
Party Buses
When we called, the Party Bus options were amazing. Besides all of the extra space you get, the music, televisions and other features made it a really nice option. The coolest option was that they have Party Buses for groups of to 28. For those people planning a Wine Tour for a large group, these are perfect.
Luxury Sedans and SUV’s
For smaller groups or couples, a luxury sedan or SUV is perfect. You don’t have to worry about driving while tasting all of the amazing wines that are offered at the Pennsylvania Wineries and you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the entire experience.
Last Words
If you find yourself driving by and they are closed, stop into the Windmill Restaurant across the street. They may just be able to “sneak” you a bottle or two of your favorites.
