Thesis

A company located in Malvern, PA had opened a second facility in Montgomeryville, PA which required employees to move between the facilities throughout the day.  They were opening the facility in two weeks and their Risk Management Team was concerned about asking their employees to drive themselves.

Their goal was to identify a safe and reliable solution that could shuttle employees between the offices and also provide when necessary, additional vehicles for larger groups for meetings.

Key Challenge

They were faced with two specific challenges.  One, their need to start up the shuttle service in only two weeks and two, finding a company who could execute the shuttle service with minimal service startup issues.

They preferred to hire a company who understood this kind of work already and could in-fact, find ways to maximize efficiency for their employees during the shuttle process.

Proposed Solution

We proposed 3 unique options.  First, we would put in place a working shuttle that would provide Wi-Fi and working stations for the employees.  This would eliminate downtime when traveling between offices.

Second, we identified 2 windows of time where traffic was typically at its heaviest and recommend not scheduling meetings around those times.  This would minimize windshield time for the employees traveling between the offices.

Finally, we shaved off more than 10 hours a week of shuttle service by not starting any meetings before 9am and after 3:30pm.  This was a value-add that showed our experience level in providing this type of service.

Lessons Learned

It may not seem like a solid sales plan to reduce your billable hours before a program even starts.  However, our good faith suggestions resulted in this client turning over all of their airport transportation doubling our revenue expectations in the first year.  A great win for the entire team.
