Prom safety is something every parent, student and High School focuses on and here at Kevin Smith Transportation Group, we believe it is our responsibility to deliver the safest experience possible for the more than 140 High Schools that call us their preferred Prom Transportation company.

However, we also want to deliver fun and our fleet of Limos, Party Buses and Prom Sprinters are ready to provide the most amazing experience to every student attending prom this year.

With that in mind, we are counting down the top 100 safety prom tips as shared by leading safety experts.  Here are tips 71 to 80.

  1. Plan for after-prom parties – If crashing at a friends house, bring a change of clothes, sleepwear and yes, your toothbrush!
  2. If you plan to go to an after-prom party, be sure it is adult-supervised. Be aware of your surroundings. And it’s always good to go with a “buddy”. Avoid using alcohol and drugs.
  3. Make sure parents know where you are at all times in case of emergency. Call a parent, guardian, or someone you trust in case plans change or you need help.
  4. If your child plans to drive their own car, the family car or will be riding in another vehicle, discuss the rules. Explain that you want them to have a memorable evening, but more important is that they come home in one piece.
  5. Limit the number of kids in the car and confirm that they will be the only driver of your car.
  6. Insist that everyone wears a seat belt even if it means a few clothing wrinkles.
  7. Always watch your situation – Try to avoid putting yourself in a bad spot
  8. Instill the importance of concentration behind the wheel. (Teenage passengers can be distracting and cause the driver to be careless. Also, they will see all of their friends when they get to Prom- No need to be texting or on the phone while driving!).
  9. Explain the importance of driving defensively on a night when the accident rate is high.
  10. Confirm they know exactly where they are going, even if you have to scout the trip during daylight hours. (This includes any post prom party locations).

Top Prom Tips – Prom Transportation

Prom season typically lasts nearly 3 months, starting in early March and ending in early June.  From a transportation perspective, it also clashes with a very busy wedding season.

To ensure you get the perfect Limo, Party Bus or Prom Sprinter, book early.  Even if you are still working on finalizing the group who will be coming along, locking up the perfect vehicle ahead of time is the only way to ensure your transportation is as amazing as the prom itself.
