Top Tips and Tricks for a Smooth Ride to Your Wedding

Weddings take a lot of planning! All of that magic, and fun of a wedding celebration doesn’t happen overnight. Most weddings take months to plan, not to mention all the additional events like bachelor(ette) parties, rehearsal dinner, and the like. There are so many little details that need to be taken care of, but today we’re talking about a big detail—wedding transportation. Unfortunately, teleportation is still only seen in sci-fi movies, so transportation logistics are a huge deal! You don’t want to be 25 minutes too late for your wedding, so here are some tips when you’re booking your wedding transportation for a really smooth ride!

Plan Ahead

It’s never too early to book your wedding transportation! When there are three to six months to the wedding date, it’s best to start looking for transportation. This is after you’ve planned your guest list and settled on reception, and ceremony venues. While you may not have every single detail of your wedding planned yet, you should be able to map out a possible timeline. This will make it easy for you to figure out your transportation needs, and you’ll be able to spell out your needs to the rental company a whole lot easier.

Who Should You Transport

Once you’ve got your timeline sorted out, you need to figure out who needs transportation. Usually, this includes your immediate family members, and the wedding party, but you may have other people you need to consider, like close relatives, or out of towners. This usually comes down to your budget and your venues. If the distance between your ceremony and reception is over a half-hour, its best to look for transportation companies that offer shuttle service, and not just limo service for you, so you can get all your guests over in time.

Reviews Matter

Now that you know the logistics of how many people are attending, and what vehicles you’ll need you can start researching transportation companies. In this day and age, the first thing you should check before making a decision is online reviews! Check to see the experience past wedding customers have had, and take a look at how the transportation company has responded to feedback or criticism, and get a sense of their service, professionalism, and dependability.

Take a Look at the Vehicles

Once you’ve settled on the vehicles you want, make sure you schedule a visual inspection of the car(s), especially your wedding car! It’s important to make sure everything is up to date, and that you’re not getting catfished by the pictures. If you’re getting decor done as well check and see other arrangements that have been done by the company so you don’t get disappointed on your big day.

Get A Contract

It’s always imperative to get your booking in writing. Verbal contracts can result in misunderstandings or confusion, so get all the details down on paper. Mention all the different wedding venues, and how many drops or pickups need to be made. This makes for a much smoother transaction, so you don’t get stressed later on when something doesn’t add up.
