Our Story

We were 14 moms that needed a day away from lacrosse games and cheer practice.  We saw a blog post from Kevin Smith Transportation Group about custom wine tours and we were in.

About Vynecrest Winery

John and Jan Landis purchased 5 acres in 1974 and planted 50 grape vines.  So began Vynecrest Winery.  They became officially licensed as a winery in 1989.

In 1998, they became a charter member of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail.  An expansion in 2007 gave the winery a total of 75 acres.  Today, they make more than 20 unique wines.

Our Wine Tour at Vynecrest Winery

We booked the white stretch Denali.  It can hold upwards of 20 people so it gave our group of 14 more than enough room.  It picked us up at Noon and we had packed a fair amount of “snacks” for the trip.

Our chauffeur was named Matt and he was awesome.  He took his time and explained all of the features of the car and made sure we were all very comfortable before we left.

Our tasting was at the Vyneskeller, the tasting room at the winery.  This place is a must visit for anybody who loves wine.  The staff was amazing and the fact that they have live music every Saturday and Sunday just adds to the day.

The wines were so good and it was great to just getaway.  While we were told there are more than 200 wineries in Pennsylvania, this is one place we look forward to going back to.

Fun Facts about Vynecrest Winery

The last Sunday of every month is a must visit.  The live music is jazz and the fact that it is offered year-round makes it a great option for any sized group.

They also do tastings for groups up to 25 people.  So larger groups are welcome.

Transportation Options

If you are considering booking a Wine Tour with Kevin Smith Transportation Group, know that there are many vehicle options to choose from.

Stretch Limousines

Kevin Smith Transportation Group offers a variety of stretch limousine options when we called them.  They included Lincoln MKT’s that could handle up to 8 passengers and a gorgeous white Stretch Denali that could handle up to 18 passengers.

Party Buses

When we called, the Party Bus options were amazing.  Besides all of the extra space you get, the music, televisions and other features made it a really nice option.  The coolest option was that they have Party Buses for groups of to 28.  For those people planning a Wine Tour for a large group, these are perfect.

Luxury Sedans and SUV’s

For smaller groups or couples, a luxury sedan or SUV is perfect.  You don’t have to worry about driving while tasting all of the amazing wines that are offered at the Pennsylvania Wineries and you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the entire experience.

Last Words

If you are looking for something different to do, a wine tour is the perfect outing.  I also recommend going with a group as it was a lot of fun and certainly a lot of laughs.
