Yoga has countless benefits, especially for business travelers. You can strengthen your mind and body while preparing for the day ahead or destressing after a long day. Yoga is also a great choice for travelers since it requires minimal equipment.

Hate the hotel gym? No problem. Travel yoga can be practiced in your hotel room or even outside. Yoga is also a great way to kill time at the airport and keep yourself from getting stiff from inactivity on a travel day.

Truly, you can practice yoga without any equipment. But, equipment definitely makes yoga easier, and in some cases, safer. We have found essential travel yoga gear that will not take up much space in your suitcase.

Plus, if you go to the trouble of packing yoga gear, you are much more likely to practice yoga during your trip!

Travel Yoga Mats

If you only invest in one piece of equipment, make it a yoga mat. The yoga mat will prevent slipping and increase stability. Yoga mats made for travel will be thinner than normal yoga mats to take up less space in transit.

Travel Yoga Straps

Yoga straps will take up minimal space in your bag. There are many uses for a yoga strap and they are not just for beginners. Straps come in different lengths, starting at 72″, which may be the most convenient length for travelers (unless you are tall!).

Travel Yoga Towel

A towel for yoga may sound silly, but believe it or not, yoga will make you sweat. A yoga towel will reduce slipping on your mat. This is obviously something you can pack if you can fit it, but not a main priority unless you are going to go to a hot or outdoor yoga class during your trip.

Travel Yoga Blocks

Yoga blocks should be the lowest priority travel yoga item to fit in your bag. Yoga blocks will obviously take up a bit of space in your luggage, but if you have room or you are driving, definitely pack yoga blocks. If you do not have room, you can use items in your hotel instead of blocks.
